This Lent I would like to invite you to join me on a

40-day Spiritual Journey of Centering Prayer

Centering prayer is a form of Christian meditation that allows us to practice Psalm 46, “Be Still and know that I am God.

You will follow along with the book, beginning on Ash Wednesday and read the accompanying days entry in the book. Each day's reading is only two or three pages and has a prayer practice for you at the end (no readings on Sundays). The prayer practice will include centering prayer, that can be any amount of time that is comfortable for you. The book recommends 20 minutes of centering prayer in silence, but if five minutes is all you have that is okay too. It can take a while to build up to a full 20 minutes for some of us. During this time, you will have the opportunity to quiet your mind and focus on God.

We will gather on

Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. on Zoom from February 18 – March 25

I will lead us in a reflection on our practices and we will have some time together to both do centering prayer and a lectio divina, listening to God through the words of scripture.  This will be a time of Spiritual renewal and prayer and a wonderful way to journey through Lent.

If you are interested in this 40-day spiritual practice, please first purchase the book,

Forty Days To a Closer Walk with God: The Practice of Centering Prayer

by J. David Muskens.

Next, RSVP by email to the church office and let us know you will be joining the group.

I am looking forward to these 40 days to a closer walk with God and with you!

With love and gratitude,

-Pastor Kim
