Holy Week of Service - Thursday

Feed My Sheep

“Jesus said to him, 'Feed my lambs.' A second time he said to him … 'Tend my sheep.' He said to him the third time … 'Feed my sheep.'  After this he said to him, 'Follow me.' “ John 21:15-19

We are called to be Christ’s hands and feet here on earth. Here, on the eve of his betrayal, taking some time to care for those in His flock can be a meaningful way to prepare your heart for His death and resurrection.

  • Donate to Mobile Loaves & Fishes

We have two teams that regularly serve the homeless population in the Austin Area through Mobile Loaves and Fishes.

             1st Sunday Dinner – Rick Seifert (rseifert1989@gmail.com)

          3rd Saturday Dinner – Steve Posluszny (poslus@yahoo.com)

Useful items for the truck ministry are: travel size toiletries, new adult socks or gently used shoes. You can drop items off at the church in a container at the side entrance to the sanctuary, next to the red blessing box tub.  Alternatively, you can reach out to one of the leaders listed above to hand off items or join them for a “run”.

  • Donate food for the Serving Center OR Blessing Box.

We are invited to live out Jesus’s instructions to “feed my sheep”, and one way we can do this is donating to the Round Rock Serving Center or to another organization in your area. You can donate food directly to the Food Pantry or donate paper or plastic grocery bags. If you choose to donate to the Round Rock Serving Center, you can drop off items from Mon-Sat 8am-4pm. You can also continue putting non-perishable food items in the red Blessing Box at RRPC. Suggested food donations:

    • Canned vegetables

    • Canned fruit

    • Canned soup

    • Top Ramen

    • Peanut butter

    • Macaroni ‘n cheese

    • Canned mean and tuna

    • Pasta

    • Rice & pinto beans

    • Cereal

    • Toilet paper

    • diapers

You can find more information at the Round Rock Serving Center website.

  • Food Pantry Scavenger Hunt

Follow God’s call and start a lifelong habit of giving by making a game of it! Have your kids search your home for the items listed above. (You might want to go to the store ahead of time to make sure there are great items to “find”. 😊 ) Then, drive with them over to the Round Rock Serving Center or our RRPC Blessing Box to show them how they are helping those in our community who are less fortunate than ourselves. Here are the locations:

(across the street from Trinity Place Senior Apartments and just down the street from Voigt Elementary School)

  • Choose your own random act of feeding God’s sheep.

What simple act of kindness can you provide to feed a friend or neighbor either physically or spiritually. It might be as simple as inviting them to join you at RRPC or for one or more of the activities described above.
