On Maundy Thursday we remember that Jesus came to serve and he demonstrated this through washing the feet of his disciples. After washing their feet, he asked them, "Do you know what I have done to you? So if I, the Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet. (John 13:12b, 14)" And he gave them a new commandment, "that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. (John 13:34)."
Normally, in addition to Palm Sunday, Good Friday, and Easter Sunday services, we celebrate the last supper together as a church family on Maundy Thursday. While we will not be together physically, all are invited to live out the Maundy Thursday Commandment, to love one another, as Christ loves us." In Lieu of our traditional Maundy Thursday gathering and worship, all are invited to participate in a “Holy Week of Service." Pick an activity or multiple activities for each of the days leading up to Good Friday. There are things for young and old, individuals and families, for homebound and those able to venture out, people of all abilities and skill sets. Look at what best fits your schedule, skills, and abilities and drop us a note so we can give thanks to God for all the many ways RRPC shares the love of Christ with the world.
